More men than women

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

According to a new study in China there are 32 million more boys than girls under the age of 20.

The gap doesn’t show any signs of getting smaller – in 2005, over 1.1 million more boys than girls were born.

This problem has been multiplied in rural areas where the one child rules do not apply if the first child turns out to be a girl. This statistics make it so much harder to find a partner which may explain the dramatic increase in online rural dating in China.

The UK experiences similar problems across the rural communities, although there are currently no laws on the amount of children you can have! However agriculture is not attracting a large younger generation to work on farms and we are seeing the industry average age increase. Kissinggates.com helps bring the rural communities together.

What to wear on your first date

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

It is always difficult to know what to wear on a first date, there is nothing worse than arriving in jeans and t-shirt (like you have come straight off the tractor), when your date has arrived in a full ball dress (like she has come to a hunt ball!). If you have not found a date yet register on kissinggates.com free today.

Don’t panic, we have some useful tips for women and men;

Tips on what to wear on your first date for women:

  • Keep jewellery to a minimum, a classy subtle approach is likely to be better received.
  • Don’t overdo it with the makeup. Always remember less is definitely more.
  • Avoid brightly coloured nail polishes and lip sticks.
  • Go easy with the perfume.
  • Let your clothes express your personality, don’t be shy to show off.
  • Don’t wait until the last minute to shop for an outfit, spend a bit of time choosing an outfit, you can always wear it on another date if this one doesn’t work out!
  • Wear a bra that fits and have the confidences to show a touch of cleavage.

Tips on what to wear on your first date for men:

  • Don’t wear something you don’t feel comfortable, for example if you never wear a suit, don’t wear one on a date. You will feel uncomfortable which will make your date feel uneasy.
  • Always look like you have made an effort and be as smart as possible, arriving muddy with dirty nails will not impress.
  • Tattoos can be contentious, some women hate tattoos, but others love them. If you have tattoos it is best to keep them covered for the first date.
  • Clothes that are too small or too big always look bad. Always wear clothes that fit properly.
  • Remember that less is more with aftershave!
  • Always compliment your date on what she is wearing, women love to be flattered.

Rural Crime on Increase

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

People living in rural communities must tighten security as the UK enters a recession.

We are expecting the trend of rural burglaries to continue as it did in 2008, when NFU insurance claims increased 14.7%. In past recessions crime levels have increased in rural areas, there is something else that has increased dramatically over the last 10 years – single occupancy housing.

If you live alone it is a lot harder to keep track of your valuables and assets but by living with another person you minimise the risk of robbery. The problem with this is the longer you live alone the harder it is to meet someone new. So to improve rural security and your lifestyle find a rural partner today at Kissinggates.com.

Possible locations for a first date

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

The location of your first date can tell a person a lot about you, remember first impressions count so don’t arrive straight off the tractor! We have identified three types of dates to help inspire you;

  1. Intimate dates: Coffee shop, rural pub: You can’t go wrong with a first date in a coffee shop or local pub. This makes for a classy and best of all affordable and comfortable first date destination, but don’t choose your local pub where you know everyone. Choose a discrete location where your date gets the attention not the whole bar!
  2. Action Dates: These kind of dates can be great for interaction and creating a bond with a new partner. When you do activities together on a date you will feel as if you have spent more time with someone which makes the other person seem more familiar and comfortable to be around. Good places to take your first date for an action date are: miniature golf, bowling, village scarecrow competition, wine tasting.
  3. Intellectual/Cultural dates: Such as Art Shows, Science museums, farmers markets: These can be particularly fun if you have identified before hand on Kissinggates.com you have similar interests.

Mud Sweat and Tractors

Monday, April 6th, 2009

This title sounds familiar to farmers across the country, but this is not my autobiography title (although it would be a good one if it included “tears”) – It is actually the title of a new television series on BBC four on Wednesday 15th April at 9pm.

“Mud Sweat and Tractors” is a four-part series that tells the story of man’s relationship with the land – “it charts the revolution that food production in Britain underwent in the 20th century, and examines the impact this had on the lives of farmers and consumers alike.”

We are not sure how much of this series will cover the lifestyle and difficulties of finding love in a rural community but it is certainly one to look out for. Viewers who are not from a farming background will have a better understanding of the UK farming and it’s development, which will in turn give a better opportunity to understand if you could cope marrying the lifestyle as well as the farmer! If you are up for the challenge register on Kissinggates.com today.

Speed dating vs Online dating

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Speed dating is a fantastic way to meet new people, how does it work?

A group of ladies sit on individual tables and an equal number of men then sit at each of these tables for three minutes. After three minutes the men move onto the next table. The idea is that you meet as many people as possible and it is therfore a shotgun approach to dating.

But because you only have 3 minutes it’s hard to bring your true self out and it requires a lot of confidence, you also have to chat to a lot of people you instantly know you are not suited for; it is defiantly not the best option for everyone.

Online dating is more of a sniper approach because you can search through a lot of people and find the partners you are likely to get on with before you even meet, after messaging a like minded partner you can meet for a date having already established the small chat “job? kids? etc” This maximises the chances of success and we think is the best option for people looking to find someone and not waste their time!

This is especially relevant for people who live in rural communities, speed dating is very much a townie affair simply because of the logistics and practicalities of living in the countryside. If you are single why not register now for free at the home of rural dating.
