EU farm ministers plan to simplify red tape.

Monday, May 25th, 2009

The Guardian reported, European Union farm ministers promised on Monday to strip more layers of red tape from the bloc’s vast agriculture policy, hoping to simplify the lives of farmers battling with mountains of paperwork to claim subsidies. After months of debate, the ministers endorsed a document that calls on the EU’s executive Commission to carry on work, begun in 2005, that slices through much of the EU’s farming legislation, which accounts for nearly 60 percent of all EU law.

Obama raises fears over his children dating

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

President Barack Obama says he doesn’t worry about daughters Malia and Sasha until they become teenagers and start dating. “Now, I worry about them when they’re teenagers where, you know, you’re already embarrassed about your parents and even more embarrassed on TV all the time,” Obama told Newsweek magazine. “And dating I think will be an issue because I have men with guns surrounding them at all times, which I’m perfectly happy with, but they may feel differently about it.”

This is a really hard issue for anyone in the public eye, however if you are not a son or daughter of the president then you have a real advantage when trying to find love. You can turn to Kissinggates.com to find yourself a rural partner today!

Farmers create their own fibre network

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

In rural Lancashire the local community is laying fibre. The Wennington/Wray communities had ‘no hope’ when it came to the provision of ADSL so in 2005 they were awarded a £25k grant by the North West Development Agency to roll out a 2Mbps symmetrical mesh wifi network. The initial 12 users charged themselves £25 a month which provided a kitty for further expansion of the network to 22 endpoints.

This allows the rural community to take advantage of services online such as an online dating for farmers. Kissinggates.com is the home of rural dating and we hope to help the Farmers of Lancashire find a partner now they can turn to online dating!

Shortage of jobs and homes stangles village life

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Thousands of young men and women are leaving the countryside because of a shortage of jobs and homes, Jason Beattie reports on the Mirror.co.uk.

He goes on to say; more than 100,000 24-to- 35- year- olds are predicted to move to cities in the next three years as recession bites.

The exodus is driven by a lack of work and affordable housing, according to a study by the National Housing Federation (NHF). It says it will have a knock-on effect, hurting rural shops, schools and pubs.

This is another example of how hard it can be to live alone and be single during a recession, by sharing the troubles of a tough time with a partner you are in a much stronger position both mentally and physically. To find a rural partner today join Kissinggates.com

Bringing their sound system to local cattle market auctions and county shows. Formed by rival farmers DJ Psylage and Farmer Giles Peterson in an attempt to settle their bitter land dispute, the crew quickly grew in size and now boasts almost 100 members to date. Brought together by a love for farming and a general concern for lack of rural representation in today’s underground music scene, the crew are intent on bringing their unique ‘farmcore’ style to the forefront and initiating a rural takeover.

Farming can keep the earth cool

Friday, May 8th, 2009

New research from the US suggests that farmed fields can counter global warming and that planting trees to store carbon should be approached with caution.

Fields have a chilling effect on the earth. This “cool farms factor” has mitigated the effects of global warming across the entire continental US, and could continue to do so.

Using a high-resolution climate model, Noah Diffenbaugh of Purdue University in Indiana has calculated how agriculture has influenced the climate in the United States. He found that farming has caused a significant cooling across the US.

The question is how land use will change. Efforts to store carbon by planting trees, for instance, may have mixed consequences because tree cover may increase local warming. This needs to be taken into consideration when deciding how to reward forestation efforts, he says.

These are serious issues that farmers and farming practices must adapt accordingly. Kissinggates.com are as green as possible and take every measure to minimise our carbon footprint while providing a fantastic service for single farmers.

Countryside Post Offices hit another blow.

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

Village post offices face being hit with big bills after royal mail bosses forgot to charge them for installing cash machines to entice customers in reported this is Cornwall.

For two years, sub-postmasters have enjoyed having the “free” machines in their stores, often acting as the only source of accessing cash without travelling to the next town.

But now Post Office Ltd has admitted it should have been charging to keep the machines stocked with notes – and branches will need to pay bills dating back two years. In many cases, the cost runs to hundreds of pounds.

This in not good for our struggling rural communities, every day tasks in towns, like walking to an ATM to get cash, are not that easy in the countryside! In the same way a city slicker can walk to numerous bars stuffed with singletons, whereas a rural farmer in the countryside can pop to the local pub which is more likely to be stuffed with relatives!

DON’T DESPAIR – Kissinggates.com is the answer to finding a partner if you live in a rural community. We put the interests of the countryside first and serve you! Check us out today and register for free.
