Dating ideas for Valentines Day (even if you are single)

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

We understand that people have mixed feelings about Valentine’s Day. Some look forward to it, some feel as though it’s no different to any other day. Here are some Dating Ideas of what to do this Valentines Day (particularly useful if you are single);

- A night in with the lads. If you have a couple of mates who aren’t loved up, get the lads round! Maybe have a couple of games of poker or fire up the games console, get the beers in, and order every takeaway option going!

- Head for the pub! With February 14th falling on a Sunday this year it’s a perfect opportunity to go down to your local, have a roast dinner and watch the footie. What’s more there may be a few fellow singles there. There’s really no downside to this!

- Do something fun. Remember how much fun you had while you were younger, going to the zoo, the cinema or a theme park with a group of friends? Gather up your single friends and go somewhere you may not go to ordinarily. The best thing is, it shouldn’t be as busy.

- Feeling adventurous? Taking place across the UK, these Valentine’s bungee jumps are a great way of getting your heart racing! You can jump with your date or if you’re single and don’t fancy being tied to your best friend, you can jump on your own! Champagne greets you upon your return to the ground!

- Create a hamper. Bear in mind they don’t have to be expensive goods. If your partner loves a particular flavour of crisps or has an addiction to Walnut Whips, make sure they are in there! Knowing the foods that they like will say more than an impersonal basket of champagne and caviar ever could

- On a tight budget? Nothing says how much you’ve made an effort more than something handmade. If your budget doesn’t stretch to buying a Valentine’s Day gift, then why not make them something special? Alternatively, just buy them some heart centered Jammie Dodgers!

- Vouchers. No, we’re not talking £10 to spend in B&Q! Give them a series of vouchers that they can redeem against you. Things like ‘This entitles you to 1 massage’, or ‘I will do the washing up for 1 week’ are sure to do the trick.

- Cooking. It’s easy to go out for a meal, but do you really want to rub shoulders with everyone else all crammed in to the same restaurant? Eating at home gives you privacy and a more intimate feel. You could either treat them by cooking, or have a bit of fun by cooking the meal together

- A walk in the park. Nice and simple, but mix things up a bit. As you walk, look for things that remind you of your date or things you may have already done together and tell your partner why it reminds you of that particular memory. Sometimes the simplest of things can be the best.

- A lucky dip. Can’t decide what to do? Write down a load of different ideas, put them in a hat and pick one out!

Whatever it is you decide to do this year, as long as you have fun and enjoy yourself that’s all that matters. KissingGates.com will be very busy too, so make sure you log in and get chatting to some fellow Members!

Have fun! The KissingGates.com team.

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010
The Peter Levy Show

The Peter Levy Show

James Vestbirk was interviewed live on The Peter Levy Show this afternoon discussing online dating and KissingGates.com growth during this romantic time of year, Valentines Day! This is particularly relevant to Humberside where there are a lot of Farmer Wants A Wife.

Peter was particularly interested in the difficulties for single parents and divorced couples in the region who find it very difficult to meet new single farmers. Especially if for example you are : 48, divorced, with two children and 4 horses to look after, you would have to go horse dating to find someone.

So You Think You Can Dance, Alastair Postlethwaite.

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Kissinggates.com support for Alastair Postlethwaite off the BBC show, So You Think You Can Dance was not enough to put this Farmers son from Lancashire through to the final of the hit TV show, So You Think You Can Dance. We support Alastair’s efforts to reach the final stages and hope he continues a life in the public eye. It is very important to improve the public’s exposure to Farmers and associated family members to help increase awareness of the problems in rural areas, such as finding love. Kissinggates.com is a rural dating website which is free to register and helps Single Farmers find a partner.

Alastair, who is 28, reached the semi-finals on So You Think You Can Dance and put up a valiant effort, but was voted off with Mandy Montanez on Saturdays show.

Good luck Alastair in your ballet career and we hope you don’t forget farming..

Lincolnshire Journal Coverage

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

With Valentines day around the corner KissingGates.com has had a lot of media coverage, recently we were covered in a full page feature on online dating and rural love in the Lincolnshire Journal.

Lincolnshire is a county which suffers from being remote and rural community, which is obviously one of the attractions :)  but is also one of the draw backs when it comes to finding love :(

James Vestbirk, the founder of Kissinggates.com was featured with his new girlfriend, who he met via KissingGates.com (of course), proving online dating works and is a great way to solve the many social problems in rural communities.
