Farmer Wants a Wife – Are Your Looking For Love?

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

If you live in the countryside then you’ll be well aware that it can be especially difficult to meet new people and form new relationships when you live in a village or rural area. Don’t fret! There are plenty of country folk who are located across the UK who are looking for love and even new friendships. What better way of meeting new people with similar interests to yourself than to become a member of KissingGates.com!

Farmer Wants a Wife

Do you remember the Farmer Wants a Wife series that was aired on television in 2001? Farmer Wants a Wife was a reality show that tracked the lives of single farmers who were looking for love. Women were then encouraged to write a letter, of which the farmer has to select his top ten women who are then invited to a social gathering. The farmer’s favourite five then go on a date with him individually, with two living for a week on his farm, and then the farmer eventually chooses his favourite.  This whole show exemplifies the fact that it can be very difficult for farmers to meet new people.

The Difficulty of Countryside Living

If you’re a farmer then you’ll no doubt have an exceptionally difficult lifestyle in the sense that you’ll often work irregular hours, and will have to tend to livestock or harvest at certain times of the year. It can therefore be difficult to meet new people, especially when there are limited places to socialise in the countryside unlike urban areas that are a melting pot for singles. Imagine a place where you could meet new people and communicate with them around your hectic lifestyle…

Beef Price Stays Strong

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

As well as online dating, Kissinggates.com are also farmers, and we as a business have a keen interest in the rural way of life and farming in a traditional way. On that note we have just taken delivery of our first stock bull, Leopald. Leo has an important job to do, not only to get friendly with our cows but also to build up our herd over the coming three years. It has been a good 20 months of relative stability in the beef price which has given farmers the confidence to dig deep in the store sales, helping to maintain the price, which is great for farmers.

With more livestock about it does mean that the time for “farmer wants a wife” searching is limited for beef and livestock farmers. At least lambing is nearly over for most of the country which is when the hard work really begins some might say. This is however a really interesting point, how do livestock men and women who are farmer wants a wife find a partner at this time of year? Meeting someone a conventional way is difficult because;

a) There is no time to go out.

b) The local pubs are closed.

c) Singles who are not farmers don’t understand their commitments in terms of time.

We have got a solution, on Kissinggates.com although you may not find farmer wants a wife straight away, you will be able to communicate with local members in your own time who are like-minded and you will then be able to meet up when you have the time, this goes some way to solving the traditional problems associated with online dating.

Why should Farmers use Twitter?

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Twitter can be quite a hard thing to get your head around. Below is a video explaining the basic concept, although it is quite American it does get the point across;

AT THE TIME OF WRITING THIS POST KISSINGGATES.COM HAS OVER 1000 FOLLOWERS ON TWITTER – JOIN THEM TODAY AT TWITTER.COM/KISSINGGATES

  • - How can I use twitter if I am a farmer?

Farming can be a lonely occupation at times; working with animals or on your own for hours at a time. Twitter.com gives farmers an opportunity to share some banter and stories.

For example, one farmer might not feel compelled to actually phone a fellow farmer to tell them they have got stuck in the mud, got a flat tyre, their sheep have got out or another amusing story. Twitter is a means for farmers to create a circle of banter in short posts - Kind of like public text messages. Now mobile telephones often have internet access it’s even easier to stay in touch with other farmers all across the UK.

Another use for farmers is if they are not sure on something they can post a question on Twitter – “Mind gone blank, how long is a sheeps gestation period?” This can help you find a quick and easy answer, especially if you follow and connect with vets!

The problem of communication is multiplied in the countryside and Kissinggates.com is an online means to communicating and finding single farmers and partners for farmers  to go on a date with, registration on Kissinggates.com is free and simple.
